Cafe La Ruche of Georgetown

Well it's George's big six oh. And so, to mark the occasion, my mom and Emily organized a lovely fete at a french restaurant on May 28th in the charming section of Washington, DC--Georgetown.

There were about 20 of us who whet our appetites first with any one of a few delicious appetizers. I started with the House Salad. I know--BORING! Well, I wasn't in the mood for the Caesar or Gazpacho or Onion Soup or Vegetable Soup...

For the "ENTEER" (sic) I had the Rainbow Trout Belle Meuniere. Other options were Salmon au Four, Poulet Cordon Blue, Angeus Steak au Poivre Vert, Canard a L'Orange, Poulet Grille a L'ail. Despite the misspelling, the entree was delicious!

Dessert, was an ENORMOUS Gateau au Chocolat. Actually, it looked more like a HUGE Buche de Noel...but it was all light, fluffy chocolate cake rolled around whipped cream, more dark chocolate and other gooey goodness.

My rating: trois canards
