Remembrance: Celebrating Tony’s Birthday
My brother, Tony died in 1990 from complications of HIV. Today he would have been 43 years old. My parents wanted to celebrate his birthday, which is a healthy way of dealing with a loved one’s death.
Tony was a remarkable person, who was always there and always giving. When we were kids we made a pact if we only had one meal left to eat what would it be? Tony’s was lobster, which we had flown down from Maine along with clam chowder a week before he died.
Today we toast to his 43rd birthday and know he’s somewhere in another quantum universe alive, healthy and still giving. He is truly missed here.
