New York Daily Eats

This trip to NYC was entirely too short. I no sooner got off the plane I’m getting back on.

The food highlights:
My 93 year old GrandmotherI went to visit my Grandmother. Who lives in CT. To quote Grace, “the food at this place isn’t that good since the new management. They can’t make a good tomatoe sause like mine.” My grandmother is an outstanding cook but at age 94 she really doesn’t cook anymore.

Turkish food, fish at Istanbul, New HavenDinner at my favorite Turkish restaurant in New Haven, Istanbul. Always delicious.

Back to Mahattan, where the air stank of gas and rotten eggs. This didn’t help to induce an appetite. But later that evening I was hungery after back to back meetings. I thought I was going to have quiet dinner at Souen, my favorite macrobiotic restaurant in Soho. Dinner was distrubed by a homeless man who came into the restaurant asking for something to eat. He diddnt want money he only wanted food just as I was about to get up to give him some food another customer jumped up and told the man he would help him. I nearly broke down in tears. New Yorkers are great people and I proud this is my home.

Last’s night dinner with New York friends: Courtney Pulitzer, Tanya V, Renee Edelman, Danielle Cyr, Ellen Sragow, Greg Masters, Paul Witcover, and Dan. Good dinner at wondee thai 2 on 9 Ave. Service was a little to quick to remove the plates while people were still eating.

My flight is broading… Photos will be uploaded when I get home.
