I had an awesome afternoon exploring various new restaurants in New York today. My long time friend, Donnalee Robinson, joined me for an adventure in food today. Let’s just say trouble was in town! First stop Marseille for to lunch in French cuisine. I had Mediterranean Chicken Salad. Chopped green vegetable salad with feta cheese and yogurt sauce and lemon vinaigrette. It was very tasty! Donnalee had the air-dried beef carpaccio arugula salad with shaved fennel and Parmesan. Donnalee said there was too much beef, none the less yummy. We toasted to life with Pamplemousse and Pommegranite cocktails.
From Hell’s Kitchen we took a cab to West Chelsea and walked to the Meat Packing District where we shopped at Jeffrey’s and Stella McCarthney. Shopping can make you very thirsty and off we walked to Hoggs and Heffer’s for an afternoon dance on the bar, game of pool, and song. I’ll be posting the bar top dancing video soon.
After working so hard at Hogs and Heffers we need to have something to snack on went to Jean Georges’ Spice Market. There I had dessert, a Coffee Tart. Oh my, that was true great sex. Donnalee had the Ginger fried rice, which was delicious. To quote Donnalee, “the flavors mix more at the bottom.” I have to go back for a full dinner. Our dining host, David, told us he’s in a new play in Soho at Green and Broadway called “Ignored My Heaven”.
We walked a little and took the bus uptown back to Hell’s Kitchen to deliver Donnalee to her “friend” and celebrate our adventure with cocktails at Blue Fin, which was properly crowded.
