Positively Cuban and always a good time, Agozar! This is a modern quaint find on the Bowery across from CBGBs in Manhattan and serves up the best Cubaniche sandwich! European style seating cute and clever interior with the sound of modern Cuban music creates an enjoyable steamy environment. Owned by brother and sister team, Diana and Gerardo Perez this is a great find!
Before you get to the Cubaniche start your appetite off with a Futeria. This very enticing mixture for a salad includes mango, pineapple, bananas, mixed greens with mango dressing. Refreshing for a hot day good portion. There is a contract to stiffness of the greens to the bitter sweetness of the pineapple.
On to the main attraction the Cubaniche. Classic pressed Cuban sandwich with pork, ham and Swiss cheese. Grilled to perfection and garnished with fried plantain chips. Your mouth starts to water before biting in and when you do its Delicious! It washed down nicely with a Classic Mojito.
Flan and classic Cuban coffee was for dessert. The flan was rich and has a nice Jell-O consistency, the coffee deep dark and bitter perfect.
This is a great place for lunch, dinner, and cocktails!
